Perfume – Love the World

Lately I’ve been addicted to Perfume’s Love the World. It hit #1 on the Oricon charts. The single includes Love the World and its instrumental and the B is Edge and there is a extended mix of it included in the single.

But I’m not here to review the happy, upbeat and well arranged song that can bring you in a good mood instantly and while the vocals are okay, they could have been better, but they do sound incredibly cute. No I’m not here to review that.

I’m going to tell you all about how well CG’d the PV is. How funny the effects are and how there is a very funny contrast.

The PV start with the tree girl sitting and doing something fun with their legs and the title of the single is transitioning in. So the music is techno-pop right and the PV is filled with fun effects, which goes with the video. But the whole PV is in greyscale! It’s not in flashy colours, it’s in grey scale! And for some reason it works amazingly. The greyscale has to be the best effect in the whole PV.  Just the contrast of something greyscale (= associated with old, vintage, etc) with techno pop blows my mind.

And they could have made everything filled with effects, but the PV is well balanced with effects and calmer pieces. Some parts could have been better synced to the music. I really don’t like it when things are not synced.

However, the dance in the PV is so adorable, gosh, it really adds the pop to techno-pop.

rating: 4/5! Go and watch the PV.

Have a nice day.

Be in a good mood, yeah!
